Beautiful circa 1865 Biedermeier Vienna regulator in Rosewood case. This Vienna regulator is of classic design and proportions witha beautifully detailed tail. The single train movement is provided with a dead beat escapement, and beat regulation. The signed ‘two-piece’ porcelain dial has fine Roman numerals, delicate blued steel hands and a ‘pie-crust’ bezel. The dial is signed Jos. Rogelsperger in Krems. The pendulum has a wood rod and the brass cased weight is supported by a most attractive pulley. The delicate key has a wooden handle.
This is a most rare and collectible antique Vienna regulator as very few of the Biedermeier style Vienna regulators were ever made.

The clock is approximately 40" long . It is 12" wide at it's widest.
The dial is signed Jos. Rogelsperger in Krems. Unfortunately Jos. Rogelsperger in Krems is not shown in the book "Viennese Clockmakers and What They Left Us", or any of my other books. However, I do fiind a Franz Rogelsperger working in Vienna in the late 1800's and into the early 1900's. This may well be the son of this clockmaker since many clockmakers moved into Vienna in the late 1800's. I believe Krems is just a short distance Northwest from Vienna in Austria. The dial is nearly perfect. The pendulum stick is made from wood. The front and back of the pendulum bob are both brass. The glass is old wavy glass.
Caveats: There are some inperfections in the veneer above the door. This is not unusual considering it's 140 year life. Most people would not even mention these very small flaws, but I can't help myself!
This clock is really terrific , it runs well and keeps good time. This clock would be a wonderful addition to your collection.
