Beautiful Three Weight Serpentine Vienna Regulator. Beautiful Transitional Serpentine style Vienna regulator in a wonderful "Rosewood" case.This ca. 1875-1885 Vienna regulator is of classic design and proportions with a beautiful carved crest. It has a three weight, week running, Grand Sonnerie movement that strikes on the 1/4 hours. The signed porcelain dial measures about 7 inches and has a spun brass bezel. The clock is signed Fr. Klameth, Wien (Vienna), and is in very good running condition. There is even an old tag on the back of th e door with the maker's name and address. Franz Klameth/Klamerth is listed in the book "Viennese Clockmakers and What They Left Us" by Claterbois. The clock measures approximately 44 inches long by 13 1/2 inches wide at it's widest point. The top carving is a very proper hand crafted replacement. The wall stabilizers are very proper, but later replacements.
