Item Number J020: Signed Dial Altdeutsch Vienna Regulator .
Price Reduced!**** $1400 USD!****
Beautiful circa 1880 Vienna regulator in the Altdeutsch Style. This Vienna regulator is of classic design and proportions.
From my clock collection, this massive vienna regulator constitutes an impressive example of viennese clockmaking of the altdeutsch period, circa 1880.
At 55 inches tall, 19 1/2 inches wide and a bit over 9 inches deep its huge size is matched by its beautifully ornate carving. This is no garden variety altdeutsch!
The fine porcelain dial, with its rather narrow chapter ring, is in quite pristene condition, with the occasional exception such as a few chips around the top of the left winding arbor.
The dial features the signature "Szente Gyula" with "Veszprim" appearing underneath it. The town of Veszprim is Southeast of Vienna and Southwest of Budapest. It is about 60Km from Budapest.
This is a grand sonnerie clock, AKA "blind man's clock" with three weights. It runs approximately eight days per winding. It is running and striking perfectly at this time, but may require adjustment after shipping and would soon benefit from cleaning.
There is a most interesting rather large inked "star" symbol stamped on the wood on the back of the case- the wood which rests against the wall.
I'm not absolutely certain of the wood, but it's likely oak or walnut. It is quite dark.
Click on the pictures below for a high resolution picture. Some of these pictures may take a quite a while to load if you do not have high speed access.
The price for this stunning wall trophy is $1500. After receiving your bank money order in US dollars drawn on a US bank, I would bring it to an area pack-and-ship center and all packing, shipping and insurance prices and terms would be between you and that company.
