Beautiful 2 weight Second Baroque Vienna Regulator. A rare Gustav Becker Second Baroque style Vienna Regulator with matching embossed dial, weights, and pendulum bob .The movement has recently been completely overhauled and made to "like original" condition.   This clock strikes on a coiled gong that makes a wonderful tone.   The pictures tell the story, just look below! Below the pictures is a more detailed description.

The case is a Mahogany veneer. When I got this clock it was missing it's small bottom carved tail piece. I had a new one made by an expert wood carver (Viennese born), and the molding just above it made by a professional cabinetmaker. They have been stained and finished to match the rest of the clock, bringing the case back to "like original" condition.

I have done some touch up "French Polishing" to bring the finish back to it's original sheen. Many people use alcohol based cleaners to clean up these clocks, which actually removes the original finish. So, it is not uncommon to have to do some touching up.

There are a couple of places where the veneer has been worn through. These are at the bottom corners where the door rubs against the bottom of the enclosed area of the case. There is also a small veneer damaged area at the top of the door.

There are two (2) extra holes in the backboard, underneath the movement-mounting bracket. There are two holes only (not 4), about 1/8" from the actual mounting holes. I believe this was a manufacturing error, not signs that the movement is a replacement. After all, this is a factory made clock, and there had to be variations from part to part. Nobody's perfect.

I have tried to describe the clock very objectively and truthfully. For a clock of it's age this is in terrific shape. It runs well and keeps good time.
